Students use their narrative writing AND photography skills to demonstrate how they value heritage. They write about a place in their local environment and show, through narrative writing and original photography, that the place has heritage value to them. The place does not have to be heritage listed. Creative interpretation of research through literary and photographic skills is encouraged. 

 
                                                                                                  
In 2010 Woodside Burrup Pty Ltd is sponsoring a special Pilbara Award for the competition.     
Prizes will be awarded to winnning and commended entries from students living in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and to three schools selected by the judges for showing a commitment to the competition.
